OUr work with amigos...
Amigos is a local charity based in Barnstaple, North Devon who are working to bring self-sustainability, dignity and hope to the young people in Uganda by investing in vocational training, educational opportunities and holistic life-skills. They are committed to standing with the most vulnerable and equipping them to fulfil their potential. We have worked with 2 other local secondary schools (South Molton and Pilton) and taken 2 trips of KS4 students to Uganda and worked with Amigos at Kira farm. All the pupils have raised their own money to go through a variety of activities which paid for their flights and accommodation. The remainder of their £1500 went towards helping Amigos achieve their aims and objectives. Whilst in Uganda the pupils also had the chance to visit local villages as well as the capital city Kampala. To finish the rewarding trip off the pupils went on both river and land safari along the white Nile! Have a look at the images and videos below to see what its all about!
